The Latino Commission on AIDS is a national and regional nonprofit membership organization dedicated to improving and expanding health promotion, research, treatment and other services to the Latino community through organizing, education, model program development, capacity building and training.

AYUDA is a nonprofit, community-based organization that serves the needs of the foreign-born, low-income community by providing high-quality legal services for immigration and domestic violence purposes. Assistance is given for political asylum, filing for family petitions, naturalization, advance parole, work authorization, and adjustment of status. AYUDA provides information on the latest changes affecting the legal rights of battered immigrant women and children, as well as offering model programs for serving them.

CARECEN is an organization that provides legal, educational and advocacy services for Hispanics in the Washington,D.C. area. The legal department provides counseling in such areas as employment and labor law, civil rights law and housing. The legal services department also focuses on the immigration needs of Central Americans as well as assisting all Hispanics with the naturalization process.

Casa del Pueblo is a community-based organization that serves the educational, social, cultural, self-improvement, and empowerment needs of Hispanics, particularly those who have recently arrived to the United States from parts of Central America. Casa del Pueblo seeks to address such issues as the Central American community's limited access to and participation in the processes of self-determination because of cultural, linguistic, economic, educational, and social discrimination, through the various programs it offers.

The organization's goals are to provide greater opportunities, work with dignity, and self-sufficiency for Hispanic communities, as well as to promote Hispanic heritage. It provides employment referral and training, housing for the elderly, youth and behavioral programs, and operates a domestic violence shelter. Funded by federal and foundation grants, CHICANOS POR LA CAUSA operates in 23 cities, assisting some 45,000 people annually.

The PRLDEF Institute for Puerto Rican Policy was created as a result of the recent merger between the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund (PRLDEF), founded in 1972, and the Institute for Puerto Rican Policy (IPR), founded in 1982. This new division of PRLDEF will conduct policy analysis and advocacy, and will collaborate with PRLDEF's Litigation Division to integrate the organization's litigation and policy work.
