ARTS AND SCIENCE

The Department of Social and Cultural Analysis seeks to appoint a Latino Studies scholar at the level of an advanced assistant or recently tenured associate professor to begin September 1, 2009, pending budgetary and administrative approval. We seek a scholar with a specialization in gender and sexuality, or comparative ethnic studies. We especially invite applications from candidates with interdisciplinary training and/or with a transnational perspective. Demonstrable expertise in an area of social or cultural theory is required. In addition to undergraduate teaching, the candidate hired will teach and advise graduate students in the American studies doctoral program, and will assume a leadership role in developing Latino Studies at New York University.
